EMS II: Microwaves

microwaves are the highest frequency of radio waves, but worth separating for the sake of differentiating the two for separate images. they span the EM frequencies between 300 MHz (0.3 GHz) and 300 GHz. UHF (ultra-high-frequency) TV waves are classified as microwaves.

they don't reach the earth from space, so we need to be be outside of our atmosphere to see or hear them in nature. if you've ever heard of the Cosmic Microwave Background, it's basically an echo of the Big Bang that we can detect to form images of the early universe.

but that'd be boring to draw.
oh, microwaves also cook your food! you knew that.
THEY ALSO COOK YOUR BRAIN!

lots of people flip out over microwaves-- don't use microwave ovens or cordless devices in the home, bitch about Wi-Fi in schools, and even protest the power companies using microwave transmitters on energy meters to save time and money sending guys out to check them. likely, these are the people you can expect to eat only raw food and die of stress-induced colon cancer long before any microwave radiation fries their lymph nodes.
they can cause serious damage if you say, are inside a microwave oven, or strapped across an enormous transmitting device like what tops a comm tower, but otherwise, worse rains on you constantly from the sky in "cosmic radiation."
