Artist's Comments

inspired by the lyrics of a salem song. freehand airbrush done in PSP. there is the aid of only ONE...vector located in here, and i didn't even need it (notice it is covered up and indiscernable). heh, i feel kinda proud of that. the idea of the actual brighton settlement was tossed so i improvised some stereotypical british shoreline guarded by a lonely tour/prison tower. what a freezing and miserable-looking place. please fullview on account of DA's stupid bright background makes it hard to see the detail and whatnot :/ anyhow, since it took ME the greater part of a year to locate the lyrics (i really am that stupid) i've provided them. check them out. emo as HELL, but it's a bitchin song.

" Salt-stung eyes,
Brighton's water shines,
knocks me off my feet;
defeat has etched these lines upon my face,
falling faster in this race,
failing at the only life I know.

Call me Minos,
call me fallen saints with pagan names.
My demons pulling strings I thought this tour could hide,
I thought that I could hide,
while failing at the only life I know.

Turn these stones to purpose, turn these stones over.
Take me to that English sea--
don't leave me.

Sifting sands with hands still dirty
from the last time that you hurt me. "

What a powerful written piece, I find nothing critique-able in there. But the airbrushing in your visual is too blurry, it hurts my eyes to look at it. Just sharpen that up some and it'll be cake. I love that ocean though, I have to give you major props on that.

blurry where? if anything was unnaturally rushed and blurry to me it was the ocean; everything else is subject to quality lost in artist render opposed to photo, and all-around suckage in general.

i also said i didn't write that...it's just cool. im very sorry it's the only recipient of positive feedback, doh! ::stabs eyes::

:iconsparkpenguin:

You did that freehand? Jesus. The sky looks so real. And the shine on the ocean is pretty accurate.
I'm loving that lighthouse. The picture makes me feel cold. And right now my eyes are burning and I'm irritated and hot, so I feel calm now. I wish I was there. +fav
